My Practice
Confidential & Professional Individual Therapy

How do our past experiences, relationships, and feelings impact our present?

How can we restore a more meaningful, balanced life?

My approach is empathic, collaborative and respectful of your lived experience.  I focus on you.  Together, we create a safe, confidential, and welcoming space to talk, to explore, to pause, and to notice what is happening in your mind and body.

I am trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Counselling.  Working psychodynamically means I provide a private space to explore how past experiences, relationships and feelings have shaped your present emotions and challenges.  Together, we will notice patterns and behaviours that could have been formed in childhood and affect your life today.

Our weekly sessions (lasting 50 minutes) provide that consistent, free from judgement space to explore these patterns and gain insights together.  Working together - side by side - is central to how I practice.  Through  reflection and collaborative exploration, we make sense of your difficult experiences, your painful thoughts, and your range of feelings and responses.  These insights can help your healing and personal transformation; giving you new ways to manage future life difficulties.

We can focus our work together on a particular concern and decide together how many sessions would be most suitable to explore this.  Or we can work in a more open-ended way; meaning we come to a decision on when you feel ready to move forwards in new ways.

In-person sessions take place in a therapy room in St Albans.  Remote therapy takes place online with video sessions using TEAMS or over the phone.

As a fully qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and Therapist, I abide by the Code of Ethics (on confidentiality and client care) of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I take your privacy seriously and I am fully committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.

I look forward to offering you a compassionate environment where you feel supported, understood and empowered in your journey towards emotional well-being.

Free Introductory Call (20 minutes)

Get in touch with me to arrange a time for your initial 10-20 minute phone call.  This allows us to talk about what you might need and you can ask any questions you might have.

Initial Consultation (50 minutes)

If we both embrace the opportunity to work together, we will arrange a time for an initial consultation (in-person at my private practice in St Albans or online).  This initial consultation enables us to understand what brings you to therapy and to see how we could work together.  Let's be clear there is no obligation to continue our sessions after this initial consultation.

Ongoing Sessions (50 minutes)

If we decide to continue, we'll arrange a regular weekly time.  This consistency supports a trusting therapeutic relationship and helps to create meaningful understanding and change.
